Membership Information for Prospective Members
Cantigas Women's Choir encourages all prospective members to join us for our first few rehearsals at the start of each semester (early September and January) so that you may get a sense of our culture and decide whether we are a right fit for you. Our members vary in age (from 14 to 80+!), ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and musical education. We sing songs that amplify the voices of the lesser-heard and that are from an international perspective.
When/where does the choir rehearse?
Cantigas Women’s Choir will be back in person for the fall of 2021. Rehearsals will take place at All Saints Episcopal Parish at the corner of Washington St and 7th St on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. We will have plenty of space to socially distance, and masks are required. Remote options are available on a limited basis.
Covid Protocols for Fall 2021
Vaccines are required for in-person singing. Non-vaccinated singers are welcome to participate online via zoom. Any singer who is not feeling well will participate via zoom.
All in-person participants will be masked at all times and stand/sit 6 feet apart. Only water will be permitted in the rehearsal space. Snacks can be consumed outdoors.
Temperatures will be taken upon entry. If a participant has a fever of 100 or more, they will not be admitted. If a participant has come into contact with a covid-positive person, they should alert Cantigas leadership immediately and rehearse remotely for one week if vaccinated and two weeks if unvaccinated. Return to rehearsal after a previous positive result will require a negative PCR test.
If the All Saints Episcopal Day School returns to remote instruction and/or the government restricts gatherings of 15 or more people, we will return to zoom rehearsal.
